PUTRAJAYA was in the limelight of media and political attention with its development as the New Federal Government Administrative Centre and intelligent city for the centre of information technology. Under the Putrajaya Masterplan – UDG Development Plan, PUTRAJAYA was designated with a massive area of approximately 4,400 hectares; the Core Island consisting of Government Buildings, Parks, Commercial and Residential areas.

With the above massive planned development, there was an urgent need to cater for the water supply needs of the increasing population.

Asia Baru Construction Sdn. Bhd was entrusted to construct and complete a 64 ML Reinforced Concrete Reservoir and other associated works at Precinct 18. The associated works included: –

  1. Access road leading to the reservoir site.
  2. Incidental excavation for the reservoir.
  3. Drainage works within the reservoir site and access road.
  4. Reservoir pipeworks within the reservoir site.
  5. Electrical and instrumentation works such as compound lighting and instrumentation for valves and flow meter and the SCADA system for the operation of the valves.
  6. Construction of a metering hut for housing of MCC and instrumentation panel.
  7. The supply and laying of rising (1300mm diameter M. S. pipes) and distribution mains (1000mm diameter and 1200mm diameter M. S. pipes) including valves and fittings.
